The Almost Run-Away Bride, Charlene, finally decided to marry Princess Albert in a gorgeous Armani wedding gown! I believe after watchng tonight's great wedding ceremony, perhaps all fashion fans and stylists around the world would agree that there couldn't be a better fashion match than the new Princess of Monaco - Charlene Wittstock, with her feminine yet athletic figure, and Giorgio Armani. That is probably the reason why Mr. Armani has been dressing Her Serene Highness since 2008!
This time, Mr. Armani better-performed than all his previous designs and created such an elegant, gorgeous yet UNIQUE gown that it can be called the perfect wedding dress, which almost every bride-to-be would dream of wearing on her big day!
What Made Princess Charlene's Wedding Dress so Unique?
First of all, I noticed this Giorgio Armani wedding gown smartly stayed clearly away from any Grace Kelly comparisons. You know it is hard for people NOT to compare Charlene with her passed-away-mother-in-law, the famous Princess Grace. However, the gown successfully carried us completely away from recalling Grace Kelly while we watched the new Princess of Monaco walking down the xxx. That's all because of Mr. Armani's unique design. He endorsed the gown a completely modern look, without any trace of nostalgia or revivalism.
Secondly, when Mr. Armani designed the wedding gown, he knew Princess Charlene is capable of wearing any creations "with the nonchalance and confidence of youth", so the wedding gown is full of modern, high-profiled, elegant and stylish touches.
Last but not least important, Mr. Armani didn't save anythin on the details while managed to keep the wedding gown simple, modern and youthful. Actually the list of Princess Charlene's wedding dress' details might make a few of us gasped in astonish or jealous ---
- It cost 2500 hours of work plus an extra 700 hours for the embroidery
- It consists in total 40,000 Swarovski crystals, 20,000 mother-of-pearl teardrops and 30,000 stones in gold shades!
- It took kilometres of platinum-coated embroidery thread, 50 meters of silk duchesse as well as 80 meters of silk organza to produce the wedding gown.
- The veil cost 20 meter silk tulle plus 100 hours' embroidery.
The Reception Evening Dress is Just as Perfect as the Wedding Gown!
However, though like almost everyone, I was impressed by the perfect wedding gown, I LOVE the Armani tiered silk chiffon reception gown even more!
The Swarovski-embellished evening dress shows of Charlene's perfect figure to the most. It is formal enough for any special occasions (of course including wedding), yet versatile and practical enough for any evening events or after-parties! Don't you like me, easily associated the layered hem on Charline with a beautiful mermaid?
Let's hope the beautiful Giorgio Armani wedding gown would make Princess Charlene's marriage life happy and beautiful too!
